Mini Cobalt Vessel
This small vessel in cobalt and white is the perfect size for a windowsill or to brighten your breakfast table. The piece is hand-built from slabs of colored clay in an intensive process known as nerikomi, or agateware. All the color is in the clay! Finished with a clear glaze and fired to Cone 5.
Dimensions: 2.25” at mouth, 4.5” tall
Microwave and dishwasher safe.
Nerikomi Process: First, colored pigments are added to white porcelain; next, clays of various colors are stacked into a many-layered block; then the block is marbled, cut, and rolled thin before being formed into the body of the mug. It’s a multi-stage process that always gives a one-of-a-kind result. Due to the nature of the piece, slight variations in shape and thickness can be expected.
